WHAT i THiNK
This is one of those albums that i've had for years and never really listen to. I don't know why though 'cause every time i play it i love it. Maybe it's one of those "it's too good i don't want to spoil it" albums. Anyway, Cornelius is really cool. He's done all this stuff like when he plays live, he plays to a backing track that only he can hear, however he tells people to bring radios to the gig and they can tune into a certain channel and pick up the backing track aswell and you get a strange surround sound thing. Recently a few of his tracks have appeared on the telly in adverts.
It's just nice pop music, although he uses some "arty" sounds, so you could say, "it's an aquired taste".

Oui Oui - Chacun tout le Monde (1989)

WHAT i THiNK
Oui Oui formed in the early 1980's when guitarist and singer Étienne Charry and drummer Michel Gondry met at art school. Their first album however was not released until 1989, and the music is a reaction against the political post-punk, or "cold-wave" as they called it in France, bands of the era. They tried to create music that would be fun, enjoyable and certainly not political.
As they are from France the lyrics are in french (duh), but that doesn't really matter, the music is great. So are their music videos, which can be seen on Michel Gondrys DVD.
Other work by Michel Gondry includes; that White Stripes video made with Lego, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep and Be Kind Rewind.

Man Man - Six Demon Bag (2006)

WHAT i THiNK
This the second album from Man Man, and in my opinion their best. It's not as cRaZy mEnTaL as their first, and not as clean and well produced as the third. If you want to get into them this should be your starting point.
Man Man are from Philadelphia, in the United States of eh? and all the members have been in other bands such as Need New Body and Icy Demons, so have loads of experience perfecting their mish mash of styles music. Each member of the band play about hundred instruments and "they're soooooooooo energetic" so watching them live is always a treat.

Country Teasers - Satan Is Real Again, or Feeling Good About Bad Thoughts (1996)

WHAT i THiNK
The Country Teasers have been around for quite sometime, since 1993 to be precise. They play a mix of country and western, post punk and art rock, with scathing satirical lyrics from Ben Wallers which gives them a unique sound. Wallers lyrics have been compared to William S Burroughs, Mark E Smith, Bill Hicks and Chris Morris.
If you are a very "politically correct" kinda person this music is defiantly not for you. However if you understand irony, and can laugh at subjects such as sexism, racism and cripples then this could become one of your favourite albums. It's defiantly one of mine.

Dan Deacon - Spiderman of the Rings (2007)

WHAT i THiNK
Dan Deacon is a fat, ugly, balding bloke from Baltimore, part of the Wham City collective. He creates beautifully crazy music by linking up a load of tools, instruments and hardware that i don't particularly understand, and then... well... he goes fucking nuts.
I'm shit at writing music reviews, just download it.
